Starlink Availability: Is Starlink Available In Your Area

If you’re considering switching to Starlink, it is important to know about Starlink’s Availability in your area. This is so you know if you’re eligible to enjoy Starlink’s internet service or if you should start exploring other options.

Currently, Starlink is yet to be available in every country or city around the world. This means you may be geographically predisposed to be unable to enjoy Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency internet services.

After reading this article, you can confirm by yourself if Starlink is available in your area or not. Finally, this information will determine whether you place an order or not.

Is Starlink Available In My Area

Since Starlink began operations, it has managed to launch thousands of Satellites into low-earth orbit worldwide. The presence of these satellites is responsible for the Satellite internet coverage that many people enjoy today.

So far, Starlink’s service has gone mainstream nearly everywhere in the USA and many other countries across all seven continents.

As it launches more Satellites and gets regulatory approval in more countries, it promises even better prospects. With time, more people will be able to enjoy Starlink from anywhere in the world, even in off-grid locations

If you are currently keen on switching to Starlink, you can quickly find out if Starlink is available in your area by placing an order. However, the easiest way to find out is to use Starlink’s availability map, and we’ll show you how to do both shortly.

How To Check For Starlink Availability

You must confirm Starlink’s availability status in your area before you sign up for its internet service. Thankfully, the confirmation process is quite straightforward, and here’s how to do it.

First, go to the Starlink website at www.Starlink.com from your mobile or computer. Next, enter your address in a search bar named “Service address” and click “Order Now” just below it.

You’ll immediately be shown a page where you’ll see the type of order you can make. This usually means one of two options. You’ll either get to make a Waitlist pre-order or a full order, depending on the immediate availability of Starlink’s service in your area.

Starlink Waitlist Pre-order

A Starlink waitlist pre-order is one of two possible options that show up after you place your order on Starlink’s homepage. It is the direction you get to take if Starlink has yet to expand its service in your area.

You’ll see it come up as a message that reads this way: “Order now to reserve your Starlink.” The next message will inform you of the year Starlink expects to expand its service in your area.

Subsequently, you can make the pre-order and join the waitlist. Starlink will reserve your order when its service becomes fully operational in your area.

However, you’ll need a $99 deposit to save a spot on this waitlist. You can always take back this deposit if you’re unhappy about the waiting time and plan to consider other options.

If you choose to hold on, Starlink will notify you when it can fully launch in your area. Then, you can prepare for full payment, and Starlink can ship to your address.

Full Starlink Order

A full Starlink order is the type of order you make if Starlink is available in your area immediately. This is as opposed to joining a waitlist for holding out until Starlink becomes fully operational in your area.

To this end, you’ll usually see the message “Starlink is currently available in your area” on your screen. If you plan to proceed with your order, you can now provide your contact information and make all the necessary payments.

If you scroll down the order page, you’ll see a breakdown of the charges Starlink expects you to pay. You’ll find the upfront amount for the hardware, monthly service, shipping, and tax there.

The location you order from will determine if Starlink requests your Shipping information or tax. Furthermore, Starlink will calculate your tax on the spot. You can now sum up the total cost of joining the Starlink network and pay it off.

Again, you can request a refund within 30 days if you’re unsatisfied with Starlink’s service. However, the satellite dish and other hardware components must be in good condition for a refund.

Using Plus Code

One other way to check the availability of Starlink satellite internet service in your area is via plus codes. This method comes in handy, most especially in places without an address.

A plus code is a series of letters or numbers that point to an address based on the Earth’s coordinates at that point. To use this plus code to check Starlink’s service availability in your area, follow the steps below.

1. Launch the Google Maps app on your phone or visit the website

2. Spot your location on the map and tap the screen — the latitude and longitude coordinates of the place will pop up on your screen.

3. Click on the coordinates, and the corresponding Plus Code will appear on the next page or a pop-up screen.

4. You can now copy this Plus Code and insert it in the “Service Address” box on Starlink’s homepage.

5. Click the “Order Now” box below, and you’ll find out on the next page whether Starlink is available in your area.

Starlink Coverage Map

On the Starlink homepage, you can check Starlink’s availability status in your provided location via a provided coverage map. This coverage map is a visual representation of Starlink’s availability shown in color-coded format on a map.

To use this map, zoom across it till you spot your city or state and tap the screen at the spot where you find it. You’ll see either of three messages stating that the service is available or will be available later.

Similarly, you can also see a third message showing the availability time is unknown. This coverage map also provides a handy guide to check the areas with Starlink satellite network coverage in your region or country.

Essentially, this information is particularly useful for Starlink Roam and Portable plan users who need internet service on-the-go
